Eric Valent (born April 4, 1977) played outfield for the Mets from 2004 to 2005.

Valent picked up his first hit as a Mets, a two-run home run (his first major league home run), in the sixth inning off Montreal's Livan Hernandez on April 11th in Puerto Rico to help lift the Mets to a 4-1 victory. Valent made his first start as a Met in rightfield on April 14th, 2004 against the Atlanta Braves. Valent is known best to Mets fans for hitting the eighth cycle in Mets history, on July 29th against the Montreal Expos. In the game, he set a career-best with four hits, as he went 4-4 and tied his career-high with three RBI. That 2004 season, he tied for sixth among National League rookies with his 13 home runs. He also was fifth with a .481 slugging percentage, sixth with a .337 on-base average and eighth with 28 walks.
